"High Cost, Low Value Experience"
I've been a member for a year and a half, and honestly, it's becoming more and more annoying. The workout vibe at Third Space Soho just doesn't match the steep fees you shell out.
This place is marketed as a premium gym, but the area is pretty cramped. Lately, it feels like they’re more interested in bringing in new members than keeping the ones they already have, leading to a bunch of issues:
- The changing rooms are always packed: finding an empty locker is a challenge, and after a shower, you’re bumping into folks because there’s just no room, plus you often have to wait for hairdryers.
- You might find yourself waiting in line (with up to 5 others) just to get a shower.
- This winter, the temperature in the women’s changing area has been a mess: the door to the pool is left open, causing a chilly draft in both the pool and the shower area. And at times, the showers run cold, which just adds to the wait.
- They’ve oversold classes during peak hours, so good luck finding a treadmill between 8 AM and 8:45 AM.
This morning, my husband and I were in the middle of our workout when a personal trainer stepped right in front of us, waved her hands, and rudely yelled, “YOU NEED TO STOP NOW!” She and her colleague kicked us off the treadmills mid-run, claiming they needed them for a class and that there wouldn’t be any available during that time. When I asked if that meant we couldn’t work out then, he said, “yes, it does, I’m sorry. We tried to get more treadmills, but it wasn’t possible.” So here we are, two paying members shelling out £430 a month, being told we can’t even do our workouts.
With their current focus on bringing in new members, they really ought to think about either expanding their space or halting new sign-ups. Treadmills are a basic necessity in any gym, and they should be accessible to members. They need to either limit class sizes, add more treadmills, or make the gym bigger.

"Nightmare with the cancellation process"
What a nightmare with the cancellation process. I ain't ever returning to Third Space. Their cancellation terms are just ridiculous.

"Avoid This Brand at All Costs"
This brand is really disappointing. They’re trying to position themselves as a high-end gym, but honestly, their customer service is just awful.
I shell out £195 each month for this gym, and the sauna and steam room have been out of order all through January. I've reached out to them three times about it, and I haven't heard back. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this gym.

"Unbelievable service - using debt collectors to intimidate former clients"
Absolutely awful customer support. After a year of using their personal training services on a weekly basis, I made the decision to cancel because I moved to a different area. When I tried to cancel, I was informed that unless I notified them on the 1st of the month, I’d have to cough up for another month’s membership?!! They told me I needed to give a month’s notice (I reached out on the 3rd), but they never clarified what a calendar month meant. If I were back in that neighborhood, I might have considered returning to Third Space, but now? No way. They’ve got a debt collector threatening to drag me to court. This is just not right, especially after I spent thousands with them over the course of a year. Just TERRIBLE service, and they won’t be seeing me again.
"Constant Photo-Taking in the Changing Rooms (!!!)"
The gym is really nice, but there are just too many folks snapping pics in the changing areas, showing no consideration for others who might be walking around in the buff. The gym doesn’t seem to do much about it. They’ve put up a few signs, but that’s about it. They claim they’re addressing the issue, yet if you check out Third Space Canary Wharf, you’ll find loads of photos of both guys and gals taken in the changing rooms on their Instagram. It’s clear the gym is encouraging this kind of behavior, which is totally not cool!!!

"Awesome fitness center"
Awesome fitness center! They provide a wide range of classes, pristine locker rooms, and fantastic customer support.
Big shout out to Olivia Trump for her Metaburn class - she’s a fantastic teacher, super clear with her guidance and really friendly! She made me feel right at home as a newcomer in her session - I’ll be attending her class weekly!

"Beautiful gyms, Lousy customer support"
The gyms are stunning and the classes are top-notch, but the customer support is really lacking for the high price tag.
I barely got any heads-up about a price hike (just three months in) and a shift in the direct debit date. This info could've easily been posted on the app, my account, or even sent via text, but nope, it was only emailed, and guess what? It landed in my junk folder. I attempted to put my account on hold for a month, which they initially approved, but then they took the full payment anyway, reversed the freeze, and flat-out denied my refund request. There’s zero understanding or compassion for the customer's situation; it feels like they’re just out to make a buck.
Plus, when you send emails or inquiries, it takes 2-3 days to get a reply. There’s no live chat option, and the concierge just forwards your questions along.

"Great experience, but it gets packed sometimes"
I totally get why Third Space had to bump up its prices with energy costs going up, but I see where other reviewers are coming from about the Islington location being a bit too crowded. I usually hit up classes or go for a swim instead of using the gym floor, so I can't really speak on that, but the women's changing area feels super tight during busy hours and there aren't enough restrooms - you often find yourself waiting in line, which is a hassle if you're rushing to a class. On the bright side, most of the classes I've attended have been top-notch and really well taught, plus the staff has always been friendly and ready to help. If you can swing it during off-peak times (like I do), it’s probably worth it, but it’s still on the pricey side!

"Disappointing Experience"
The customer service here is really lacking. After being a member for 18 years, they just cut me off without any notice. To make matters worse, they’re trying to hit me with an extra charge of almost £300 (£1716 for the upcoming year). It’s hard to believe. I wouldn’t recommend joining this gym; there are definitely better options out there.

"Awesome club and crew at City"
If you're looking to better yourself, I highly suggest Third Space. There's a ton available to support your training and help you live a healthier life. I'm part of the City club and have been training with PT Rob Clark, who is fantastic (to keep it short... I feel and look way stronger!).
The club has a luxurious vibe, and everyone is super welcoming, making sure you have a good time while you're there. I kept going to the club during my breast cancer treatment, and it turned out to be a true haven for me. Now that I'm regaining my strength, I'm back to enjoying classes again—just with a few modifications that the trainers are more than willing to assist with. Today, I gave Just Ride with Steph a shot (awesome class and playlist), and it inspired me to share this review.

"Expensive, Crowded, and Unfair Practices"
I travel quite a bit, but I decided to join because of their 'membership freeze' option to manage expenses while I'm away (just so you know, it's still £20 a month).
Last week, I attempted to cancel my membership since I've been out of the country for two months and won't be returning anytime soon. On top of that, it's become way more packed this year, making it tough to get the flexibility I need for classes or equipment when I do come back.
After I submitted my cancellation request, I was hit with the news that I have to cough up a full month's fee just to cancel.
When I asked about this, I was directed to check the Freeze Confirmation email (which I never received) and the T&Cs link on the Freeze form (which is broken and leads to a 404 error).
Even though they didn’t follow their own procedures by informing me of the T&Cs, Third Space is insisting I pay £220 to end my membership. It's just ridiculous.

"Overpriced and Packed Islington Gym"
I've been a member for several years now. Honestly, I'm quite let down by the constant increase in fees, which would be okay if the gym actually lived up to its claim of being the best. It's super crowded, particularly during mornings and evenings, and even afternoons are getting tough for booking classes. Honestly, it just ain't worth the cash; it's overcrowded, and for over £2k to £2.5k a year, you're likely to feel let down.

"Amazing gym facilities, but the service and app experience fall short of the high cost"
My experience at Third Space Marylebone was just terrible from beginning to end. When I signed up, I was misled about being able to pause my membership, and there was no apology when I pointed it out. I didn’t receive any info on my member perks, and I had to chase them down several times to make sure the credits and guest passes I earned were actually added to my account. I also had to follow up repeatedly about issues with the app. To top it off, I was just switched off the group membership without any notice or communication. When I called today to find out the cost to keep my group membership (which they removed without warning), they couldn’t even tell me what I was paying monthly. It’s such a bummer because the gym spaces are fantastic, but the service and app just don’t live up to the premium price you’re shelling out.

"Aiming for luxury but falls short"
Even though it looks fancy, the gym feels tight and is missing a lot of gear. Plus, it’s way too expensive compared to other gyms in London. Membership fees are steeper than some Mayfair clubs, which provide a much better experience. They don’t seem to care about keeping members; they just keep hiking up the prices, showing no loyalty and letting folks walk away. Hey management, how about you fix up your current gyms and show some love to your customers before you think about expanding? This ain't luxury!

"Membership Fees on the Rise"
The main membership fee has gone up by 10%, while the cost for child memberships has jumped by 33% and a whopping 50% for supervisors! The kids' area is a mess, with toys in awful shape and super cheap. Little ones need a wild imagination to have fun with just a few broken toys in the sensory classes (there's a basket of cheap toys worth £70 just scattered on the floor, and no one to help out). That's why it’s always empty. Don’t waste your money on that 'shameful' sensory class and then expect us to foot the bill. Plus, swimming lessons come with an extra charge. The pool is off-limits for private lessons until 2 PM on weekends, and the rest of the slots are booked solid for obvious reasons. I reported the broken and moldy pool toys a month back, and they’re still the only options for your baby to play with.
